TEHRAN, September 08 - Yemeni forces stepped up their attacks on Saudi-backed militants and UAE forces in Hudaydah, managing to kill at least 150 of them in the western coastal province in the past three days.

Yemen army kills 150 militants in Hudaydah

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Speaking to Saba news agency on condition of anonymity on Friday, a military source said 74 militants have been killed in Hudaydah’s Durhihmy since Wednesday.

The source added that army troops also targeted the positions of the terrorists in the areas of Mandhar, Jablia, Tuhyta, and Faza, claiming the lives of at least 76 militants.

Saudi Arabia and the UAE launched an offensive on June 13 to capture Hudaydah, the main entry point for food in a country teetering on the brink of famine.

The operation, however, came into an immediate halt in the face of stiff resistance by Houthi fighters and residents of the port city, which forced the kingdom to wind down the push.
