Wednesday, 26 August 2020_With over 100 000 confirmed cases of Covid-19 since the start of pandemic, Catalonia hit a grim milestone this week prompting the region's president to issue tougher restrictions on social interaction while warning residents to brace for tough weeks ahead.

While school directors in Catalonia say they welcome the steps taken to secure a safe reopening, some are urging authorities to address other concerns such as the supply of face masks and hand sanitizers. Others want to know whether their schools will be disinfected in time before reopening.
