Tehran, YJC. A UAE airplane which had landed in Iran due to a mix-up has taken off to its destination.

Iran says an airplane which had landed in its Bandar Abbas Province on Friday belonged to the UAE.

An Iranian official stated on Saturday that due to a mismatch between what the pilot had said and the technical specifications of the airplane, the airliner had had to land in Bandar Abbas.

Mohammad Ali Ilkhani, Managing Director of the Iranian Airport Holding Company, said that the aircraft had initially been introduced as an Airbus 200,300 whereas it was later identified as 737,800.

Ha added that the airplane had landed in the Bandar Abbas Airport at 17:45 local time.

After that it was allowed to take off, but the pilot stated that his flight time was over and that another pilot had to fly the aircraft, Ilkhani asserted.

He added that with request from Iran, a flight group from the UAE entered the Bandar Abbas Airport and the aircraft left for Dubai at 2:00 the next morning.

He said that during their stay at the airport, the passengers were allowed off board and were served food 4 times.

They were from various nationalities. There were also NATO logistics forces to from Afghanistan on board, he stated.
