Tehran, YJC. The Syrian president has in a letter addressed the Iranian Resistance Film Festival.

Syria's President Bashar Assad addressed the 13th Iranian Resistance Film Festival in a letter which was read in the festival’s opening ceremony, Mehr News Agency reported on Monday.

"Through the resistance festival, convey realities to the world,” said part of the letter read by the Syrian cultural attaché Mustafa Doyough.

National civilizations are mirrors for the coming generations and art, in all its forms, is one of the most important and modern aspects of civilization, read the letter.

It added "Your festival is more than a mere film festival thanks to its lofty subject matters. Resistance films are loaded with, and convey and record messages. What you are set for today is the inscription of the history of realities which they want to burry. By recording realities, you make eternal the miseries that Syria is suffering by the hands of Takfiri terrorism.”

"I know that this is a dire mission, but you are the ones for it. So, convey the realities to the world. Record it for the coming generations as honest history, not a deformed one as they want it to be,” Assad added in his letter.
