General Bagheri, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, said today on the sidelines of the farewell ceremony and introduction of the Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, referring to the recent operations of the Revolutionary Guards in northern Iraq and the Kurdistan Region:
The officials of this region and the Iraqi government must take action to deal with these groups.
He warned the Americans that their base in the region should also be mobilized and used as a counter-revolutionary center and organization.
We will continue our operations against the counter-revolutionary groups and we will not tolerate any evil on these borders.
The Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces emphasized:
Dealing with these groups is our right, and the UN Charter provides for this right.
