The Chinese Foreign Minister said that economic sanctions against Afghanistan should be lifted as soon as possible.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi raised the issue at the G20 summit, Reuters reported.
Given the situation of the Afghan people, the Chinese Foreign Minister said at the meeting that economic sanctions against the country should end.
Referring to the foreign exchange reserves of the Central Bank of Afghanistan, he added that these are the assets of the Afghan people and should belong to the people of this country.
Wang Yi stressed that these assets should be used by the Afghan people and should not be used for political bargaining.
China is signaling the end of economic sanctions against Afghanistan as the United States freezes $ 9.4 billion in central bank reserves. The country has said the Taliban should not have access to the reserves.
