On Tuesday, the Armenian Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure announced the construction of a strategic highway with Iran with the participation of Russian companies.
According to the Tass news agency, Armenian Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Ganel Sanosyan said on Tuesday on the sidelines of the 8th Assembly between the regions of Armenia and Russia:
Armenia expects Russian companies to bid for strategic north-south highway leading to Iran.
The senior Armenian government official said:
In this forum, we did not discuss the participation of Russian companies in the construction of the North-South project, but we will have a relatively extensive bidding process in which various international companies will participate. I think that our Russian partners will participate in this tender.
According to Sanosian, Iran is also interested in participating in this strategic project. Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nick Pashinyan announced that the government plans to spend about $ 1 billion to build a north-south road.
