Thursday, 2 December 2021 (YJC)_ The Iranian foreign ministry rejected Saudi Arabia’s allegations of maintaining a military presence in Yemen.

Khatibzadeh Rejects Saudi Arabia’s Allegations of Military Presence in YemenAfter the Saudi-led coalition that has been invading Yemen since 2015 alleged it had struck "legitimate military" targets in the Yemeni capital Sana'a, including a "secret site" belonging to Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh released a statement and reject this claim.

Khatibzadeh denied any military tie between Iran and Yemen, and noted “Iran has never maintained a military presence in Yemen that could be targeted by the invaders.”

He went on to say such allegations are “baseless” claims and said “they want to divert the public opinion from "the invading countries' atrocities".

Khatibzadeh also said “such claims cannot hide the "strategic mistake" made by invading countries in taking on the Arab world's impoverished nation.”
