Russian Defense Ministry spokesman John Kirby said Russian speculation about not intervening in the attack on the train station in eastern Ukraine was unacceptable.
Speaking at a Pentagon news conference, he said:
We will continue to provide information to the Ukrainian army to defend its country.
The United States wants to see Putin and the Russian military defeated in Ukraine.
Referring to the non-intervention of the United States in joining the NATO alliance, he said:
The United States currently has more than 100,000 troops in Europe.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson also said on Friday that London and Berlin had decided to impose new sanctions on Russia.
