Coinciding with the Ukraine crisis and Russia's special military operation in the country on its 67th day, Moscow released new statistics on casualties among the Ukrainian armed forces.
Russia's Defense Ministry announced today (Monday) the destruction of 38 Ukrainian military targets, including ammunition depots, by its air-to-air missiles during last night's operation.
According to Sputnik news agency, the ministry said in a statement:
Twenty-seven gathering places of military manpower and military equipment in the Zaporozhye region were destroyed. About 160 Ukrainian soldiers and 26 armored vehicles were destroyed by the Russian armed forces.
Russia's Defense Ministry also said that its air defense forces shot down 10 attack drones, two Tochka missiles and a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter near Slavyansk.
The following is the statement:
Since the beginning of the special military operation in Donbas, 146 fighter jets, 112 helicopters and 683 Ukrainian UAVs have been destroyed.
Earlier, the British Defense Department's intelligence service claimed that 16 percent of Russia's ground forces had been destroyed in the Ukraine war, claiming that it would probably take years for Moscow to re-establish the force.
