The beginning of the parliamentary elections in LebanonThe voting process for the Lebanese parliamentary elections in Lebanon started at 7:00 am today (Sunday / May 15) Lebanese time (8:30 AM Iranian time).
The number of eligible voters in this period of the Lebanese elections is 3,967,507, which is an increase of 221,024 compared to 3,746,483 in 2018. Of these, 1,361,546 are Christians and 2,584,993 are Muslims.
The proportion of voters from different groups is as follows: Maronite Christians: 18.75%; Orthodox Christians: 6.63%; Catholic Christians: 4.45%; Sunni Muslims 29.66 percent; Shiite Muslims: 29.13%; Druze: 5.49% and Alawites: 0.88%.
Lebanese Interior Minister Bassam Rumi said 80,000 security forces had been deployed to secure the election and that the election results would be announced as soon as possible.
He added that full preparations have been made for holding these elections at all levels of administration and logistics. The work is divided between different agencies and coordinated between them in a single operating room in the Ministry of Interior with the presence of representatives of the security services, the Lebanese Army and the Ministry of Energy and Communications to ensure the integrity of the elections.

In this year's Lebanese parliamentary elections, 718 people will compete in 103 lists or lists for 128 parliamentary seats in 15 constituencies.
The law under which the current Lebanese elections are held is "proportional" and the seats of the various parties are given to them according to the number of votes they receive.
