President Seyed Ibrahim Raisi, in a telephone call with the President of Senegal and President of the African Union on Tuesday, congratulated him, the people of the continent and the people of Senegal, on the occasion of Africa's National Day, and added:
I cherish the memory of the leaders and those who, despite the many difficulties and difficulties, lit the torch of freedom and independence on this continent and carried it.
Raisi referred to the role of the African Union in the face of unilateralism and colonial sanctions, adding:
The Islamic Republic of Iran has been and will be a reliable partner for all African nations.
Referring to the high technical-engineering capacity of our country, the President stated:
Tehran - Dakar have good relations with each other, but this level of relations is not acceptable and should be upgraded to a suitable level.
Ayatollah Ra'isi described attention to the African continent as one of the main axes of Iran's foreign policy and emphasized:
We are fully prepared to expand relations with the African continent, especially Senegal, and to develop South-South relations, and there are no restrictions in this regard.
In this telephone call, the President of Senegal, Maki Sal, greeted the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, thanked the President for his congratulations on the current situation in Africa, and said that it shows the special attention of the Islamic Republic of Iran to this continent.
Maki Sal referred to the history of friendly relations between the two countries and added:
Our current relationship is less than it should be, and we are ready to work together to improve it.
The President of Senegal pointed to his country's good cooperation with some Iranian companies and stated:
I have been to Iran twice and I have seen your progress closely.
