Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi said security is main priority of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Middle East.
"Stability and security are main priorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the region and these important issues will not come true unless through correct perception of current situation, and separating stability-making actors from chaos-seeking and terrorist-supporting players,” he said.
It seems that Mr. Erdogan’s remarks in Bahrain have come due to atmosphere and possibly due to specific emotional climate, he said, adding "Since Mr. Erdogan, comparing to other heads of regional states, is well informed of the positive and stability-making role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the region and specially in Iraq.”
He said that the "positive role” of Iran in Iraq has come due to request from the country’s legal government to fight Takfiri and terrorist groups whose evil deeds have frequently spread to Turkey.
He said that open and covert support from terrorist groups and instrumental use of them as well as disrespecting national sovereignty and territorial integrity of neighboring countries are worrisome and make regional situation more complicated.
