Iran summons Pakistani envoy over terrorist attack
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - "We categorically expect the Pakistani side to take serious and fundamental measures to arrest and punish terrorists. Unfortunately, our shared border with Pakistan is the most unsecured border while we have tried to provide the most secured borders with Pakistan," said Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi.
"We expect the Pakistani side to keep promises it has already made and do not let such incidents be repeated in the borders and Pakistani soil in future.”
Asif Khan Durrani, for his part, pledged to relay Iran’s protest to his government as soon as possible.
On Wednesday, nine Iranian border guards were killed and two others injured in clashes near the Iranian town of Mirjaveh in the province of Sistan-and-Baluchestan. The Jaish ul-Adl terror group claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement.
